About the Event
Irish national poetry prize winner Tony Curtis, Washington State’s Inaugural Poet Laureate Samuel Green, and award-winning poet and printer Sally Green will read poems at the Spirit of Guemes Center at 7611 Guemes Island Road on Guemes Island from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 12. There is no charge for the event.
Curtis is author of 16 books of poetry, the most recent being This Flight Tonight. Samuel Green, an Anacortes native, is the author of 15 collections of poems, and his book, The Grace of Necessity, won the Washington State Book Award for Poetry. His latest, Sage & Disciple: New & Selected Poems, will be published by White Pine Press in August of 2026. Sally Green is co-publisher of Brooding Heron Press. Her most recent collection of poems is Full Immersion. She has just finished a full-length manuscript, Tending the Flock.
