SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, April 18th, 2026
Groundfloor Guemes will host an Island Cleanup and Recycling Event on Saturday, April 18th from 10 AM to Noon in honor of Earth Day 2026. Meet at the Schoolhouse Park at the corner of Guemes Island Road and Edens Road to select a road or beach area. Pick up trash bags and tongs and then return to the park by noon to deposit the collected debris. The county will haul the load off the island.
In addition, we are working to collect some items that should not be put into our waste or recycling bins. At this time, we are able to announce that we will collect batteries of all sizes, from tiny batteries to very large back-up batteries. These will be taken to Arlington for recycling. Propane tanks up to 10 gallons in size will also be accepted.
