Guemes Island Community Center Association (GICCA) is a non-profit organization that relies on volunteers. Volunteers make everything happen for:
▪ Events
▪ Facility Maintenance
▪ Landscape Care
▪ Activities
▪ Community Support
Volunteering is one of the most powerful ways to make a difference on Guemes Island. GICCA volunteers connect the community and create lasting change – they shape the life of all of us on the island. Click HERE to see a list of current needs and ideas where you can make a difference.
At its core, volunteering is about giving - time, effort, and skills - to causes that matter. But in return, volunteers gain invaluable experiences – helping others cultivates deeper fulfilment and joy. Volunteering introduces you to incredible people, creating strong connections and friendships. Most importantly, even small acts can create ripple effects that transform communities. Think of any event or activity that you love here on Guemes - would it happen without someone volunteering their time and passion? Think of how rich our community would be if each of us contributed something of ourselves!
Please join us as we work to make strong community connections. Click HERE to send us an email indicating interest.
Each person can make a difference! As Lily Tomlin once said “I always wondered why somebody doesn’t do something about that… Then I realized I was somebody.”
